The residents of Milton will have to find another market to patronize this year as news out of the Gazette is that the Milton Farmers Market will not be held this year due to the ongoing Corona Virus Pandemic.
In a statement, market organizers said, “The circumstances that led the Board of Directors of the Milton Farmers Market to suspend the 2020 market are ongoing, and likely to continue through the 2021 market season. For this reason, the board of directors has decided that our weekly farmers market will not take place in 2021.
“Our mission is to operate a market that attracts customers and fosters a sense of community, while operating in a financially sustainable way. Due to current conditions we do not believe we are able to meet those goals this year,” the statement said.
Milton is just one of many markets that are deciding to forego the spring season as they just don’t see how it will be possible for vendors and patrons to conduct business safely while observing social distancing guidelines.
With the roll out of the vaccine, the pandemic should come under control soon and residents of Milton can look forward to the marker returning next year.
